SEIREI CHRISOPHER High School is now accepting applications to attend its summer program in Japan. Students will stay with host families. Estimated travel cost is $2,400 with an additional $240 required for some hotel and insurance expenses. Final cost of the tickets may be less; if so a refund will be issued. Contact Mrs. Hancock in the Library for more information.
Foreign exchange is a time-honored way to truly get to know another culture. The Council on Standards for International Education Travel (CSIET)www.csiet.org provides information on international youth exchange programs that have been evaluated and found to be in compliance with CSIT Standards" (pg. v). "Listing is neither an endorsement of an organization nor a guarantee of the quality of its programs." (pg.i) (CSIET 2002-03 Advisory list)
This site,http://getstarted.csiet.org/?fuseaction=app.study, is a part of CSIET. In it you name the country you wish to visit and it tells you which organizations send students to that country and includes links to those organizations. This website is very well done and easy to use.
